Here at the Alaqsite'w Gitpu School, the theme for the month of December is Generosity. What better time of year to give to others for the simple joy of giving.
Our grade eight French Immersion class decided to do two activities to give something back to our community.
First we baked cookies and gave them to a first grade class in our school. We all remember being the "little ones" in our school and we all remember how much we loved cookies at that age. We thought that it would be a wonderful surprise for them. They were happy and excited to recive a treat without expecting it.
We also donated funds to purchase a toy for the toy drive in our community. We bought a cool Dodge Viper Road Ripper that some little boy is going to get a lot of joy out of.
We know that generosity comes in many forms. It can be something big, or something really small, as long as you do it from your heart and without expecting anything in return. We hope that we have brightened someone's day and brought a little bit of happiness into his or her life.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
